4 countries. 6 cities. 8+ years building. Here's my story.
Born in Jakarta. Moved to Sacramento at 3. Then back to Jakarta. Then Taiwan. Then LA. Then Sacramento again. 4 countries, 6 cities by the time I was 16. I didn't have much direction growing up — just a lot of questions about what it all meant.
At UCSB, I studied Philosophy. Not because I had it figured out, but because I was trying to. All that moving around, all that searching — it shaped how I think. How I ask questions. How I build.
I remember taking a philosophy course on language and context. We spent weeks analyzing how the word "coffee" changes meaning based on who's saying it and why. I thought it was the stupidest thing ever. Then I started coding at 27, and it clicked: context is everything.
In code. In systems. In life.
Now I'm a builder. Software Engineer. Co-Founder. Architect. 8+ years in tech. 1,000+ users built from scratch. $2M saved through automation. But before I write a single line of code, I ask why. That's the philosophy major in me.
Outside of code, I'm at the gym. Pretty religiously. It keeps me sane. Discipline in one thing breeds discipline in everything.
The constant moving. The philosophy degree. Starting code late. It all set me apart. I wouldn't trade any of it.
